is an actress of stage, film, and television. On screen, she played the Ammy-nominated role of Nina Shah in "American Desi," as well as roles in "Cosmopolitan," "Green Card Fever," "Wings of Hope,” “The Arrangement,” and “The Emperor's Club.” Guest roles on television include "The West Wing," "ER,” "Strong Medicine" and "Fastlane." Theatrically, Purva has established a strong presence in both New York City and Los Angeles in Manhattan Theatre Club’s "East is East," at The Mark Taper Forum in "Rice Boy,” and in the Lincoln Center Theatre Director's Lab. Purva is a founder and Co-Artistic Director of Disha, a South-Asian theatre company in New York. Purva attended the Public Theatre’s Shakespeare Lab, The British American Drama Academy, and Williams College.
